Shafts are vital components of electric motors - cylinders that are carefully aligned with the interior workings of the motor before extending beyond the outer housing of the motor so that, with a little movement adjustment, motor shaft will fit to connect to the external equipment. This shaft is mainly there as a carrier for delivering the motor power and torque to the device which is the object of the operation so that its operation can be of value. Shaft and pin designs in highly engineered mechanisms usually consider the relation between speed and torque so as that when one varies, the other can adjust without causing undue stress. A high-torque application often needs bigger and more resilient shafts for example, a pump whereas a high-power operation would generally require smaller shafts with better dynamic characteristics such as low vibration and high speed.A well-designed, correctly material-chosen, and perfectly manufactured motor shaft is the single most important component determining the whole motion system's performance, reliability, and efficiency.
